The latest energetic and heartfelt single "Song In The Making" by Schofield represents where he is in his life, with his relationships, walk in faith, relationship with God, music and himself.
Liam Stolly (co-writer) and Schofield took a universal feeling and wrote about it through the lens of creating/writing a song, a little ironic no doubt. But just as a song starts from a blank piece of paper and a pen, and turns into something that could change millions of lives, a relationship can do the same thing. Give it time, give it space, and let the words lead the way.
Schofield believes his latest release, “Song In The Making”, touches a different vein for him as a writer and that’s something he wants to continue to do throughout his career. “It’s got a little of what my favorite songs are made of", Schofield says, “and that is taking a universal truth, like love, heartbreak, etc and looking at it through a different lens”. And that lens shines through no doubt in his newest release, all while keeping it rocking, keeping it country, and getting down “where the spirit meets the bone”.
The record itself features a diverse use of highly talented Nashville Session performers including, 2024 ACM Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year David Dorn and 2023 ACM Acoustic Player of the year Tim Galloway. Background Vocalist and Mixing Engineer Mark Lonsway and Electric Guitarist Justin Ostrander (Performer on 2022 CMA Single of the Year ‘Till You Can’t”) returns alongside Schofield to help co-produce the energetic and heartfelt country rocker.
